Man hiding in woods accused of shooting at school van with students on board

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — A man was taken into custody after police say he shot at a Lawrence County school van that had students on board. The incident happened along Route 56 in Shenango Township sometime around 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to township police. Officials with the Shenango Area School District say seven elementary students where on board the van belonging to the district. None of the students or the driver where stuck by bullets, but authorities say some of the kids were hit by glass as a bullet entered and exited through the van windows.

Steelers expected to promote Matt Canada to OC

Pittsburgh, Pa (WJAC) — According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to promote quarterback coach Matt Canada to be the team's next offensive coordinator. Canada, a former collegiate coach, was hired this past offseason and previously served as the offensive coordinator for the University of Pittsburgh in 2016. Earlier this week, the Steelers announced the decision to NOT renew the contracts of three coaches, including OC Randy Fichtner.

teen killed in Lackawanna County crash; driver arrested on suspicion of DUI

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — A vehicle accident in Lackawanna County left one teen dead and another injured the morning of June 10, state police say. According to a press release, Ayden Beckage, 18, was traveling north on State Route 307 with a 17-year-old male passenger when he lost control of his vehicle. State police say Beckage's vehicle then traveled across both southbound lanes of travel and shoulder before going down an embankment.
