Cambria County salon gives cancer, hair-loss patients confidence

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP - Losing your hair because of medical treatments can be traumatic, but a salon in Richland Township is helping people by pairing them with natural wigs. Niccola’s Hair Salon started the program in January and has helped about 30 people since they started. One of her clients is Connie Simmons. She recently started chemotherapy to help battle her cancer. “My first thought was my family; my second thought was I'm going to lose my hair,” said Simmons.

Coroner identifies woman killed in Woodbury post office fire

WOODBURY, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities have identified the woman killed in the fire that destroyed the Woodbury Post Office last weekend. Bedford County Coroner Rusty Styer says 64-year-old Cynthia Louise Albright died of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. The fire started around 6:30 p.m. on Independence Day, ripping through the post office, and apartments above, located on Main Street. Styer says Albright was a Woodbury resident. She was identified through DNA comparison, Styer says.

Fourth of July gas price drop to $1.776 sparks rush at gas stations around the region

Johnstown Galleria's revival could feature in retail recovery documentary

The Johnstown Galleria gaining national attention, leading filmmakers to look into documenting how it, and malls alike, are where they are today. Producers from “It's A Mall World LLC" say they are making a documentary film about how malls are recovering from the so called “retail epidemic.” They say they are at the Johnstown Galleria “to see if it would be a good fit.” The malls owner, Leo Karruli, says the hard work by him and mall vendors is paying off.

Steelers signing WR Quez Watkins to free-agent deal

PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — According to ESPN NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler, the Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly signing wide-receiver Quez Watkins to a free agent deal. The 25-year-old was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 6th round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In four seasons with the Eagles, Watkins appeared in 49 games, where he caught 98 total passes, for over 1,200 yards and six touchdowns. Watkins joins former LA Ram Van Jefferson as the newest Steelers' wideouts.
