Graveside granny charged with frequent floral felonies in Alabama

DeKALB COUNTY, Ala. — In what the local sheriff calls a 'disgraceful act,' an Alabama woman faces dozens of charges after he says she was caught on camera stealing handmade Decoration Day flowers from a loved one's gravesite. This happened last week, when a family member noticed her decorations had been stolen. She set up cameras to catch the crook in the act, and in the early morning hours caught 69-year-old Martha Jane Bowes stealing 2 new sets of handmade floral arrangements from a headstone, according to a release from the DeKalb County, Alabama Sheriff's Office.

Huntingdon Co. man seriously injured after tractor-trailer strikes bear

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police in DuBois say a Huntingdon County man was seriously injured on Friday when his tractor-trailer collided with a bear along Route 153 in Clearfield County. Troopers say the crash occurred just after 4 a.m. Friday in Huston Township. Investigators say after the truck struck the bear, it overturned, trapping the driver inside. Police say the driver, a 56-year-old Entriken man, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Penn Highlands DuBois with suspected serious injuries.

Johnstown city officials 'hopeful' to have new grocery store opened downtown following closure of Id

Moshannon Valley Correctional Center to Close Next Wednesday

PHILIPSBURG/CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa — The Moshannon Valley Correctional Center will be closing its doors on March 31st. Since it opened in 2006, the Moshannon Valley Correctional Center has been a large part of the surrounding economy. Sadly, Clearfield County Commissioner John Sobel confirmed the prison will shut next week, leaving about 300 people without jobs next week. However, Sobel says they will have help finding a new position. “The North Central Workforce Development (Board) is an entity that has already approached the prison and is working with employees, giving them opportunities to train, if they wish to go in another employment direction,"
