Delays loom in renovations of former Centre Crest nursing home

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — More delays are looming in the plans to convert a former, county owned nursing home in Centre County into an office complex. Officials say remnants of hazardous materials may still be on site. The Centre Crest building in Bellefonte is more than 80 years old and, until a few years ago, was a county operated nursing home. It’s now vacant and the county is looking to consolidate its offices, human services and other departments.

Governor says budget passed because 'everybody wanted to go home'

(TCS) — Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is heralding a budget that Republicans say was crammed down taxpayers' throats in the dead of night. After the Senate approved the state budget package late in the evening Sunday, the House took the measure up in the early morning hours Wednesday. The measure spends $53.1 billion and increases a variety of taxes on businesses by about $730 million. State Rep. Patrick Windhorst, R-Metropolis, called out Democrats in the supermajority for violating their own rules by attempting to concur on one of the measures three times when rules only allow two attempts.

Suspicious death in Adams Township prompts multi-agency investigation

ADAMS TWP., CAMBRIA CO., Pa. (WJAC) – 2nd UPDATE | Officials have released more information surrounding the suspicious death in Adams Township Saturday morning. According to the coroner's office, the victim has been identified as David Comar, 53, and that his death has been ruled a homicide. Chief Deputy Coroner Joe Hribar stated that Comar died of multiple gunshot wounds. Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer said this is the first homicide in Adams Township since 2007.

Thunder In The Valley sees pro-motorcycle stunts

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Bikers from all over have filled the streets of downtown Johnstown for the 24th annual Thunder In The Valley motorcycle rally. 6 News on Saturday spoke with a stunt performer. It was hog heaven near People's Natural Gas Park, and all a biker could want: Sweet rides, leather jackets, good food and drinks. On top of casual motorcycle enthusiasts cruising and revving down the streets, the professionals got to show off, as well.
